Competing in Premier Level Club Soccer has been a high point in my soccer experience. Throughout my experience, I feel like I have grown the most within my high school soccer team. Being named junior varsity team captain as a freshman was a privilege and an honor given by my coaches and team during my first year. That honor grew as I earned playing time with the varsity team as a freshman. The team captain role allowed me to practice leadership to become an example for my peers.
During my sophomore year, COVID-19 allowed me to practice flexibility. My coach nominated me to serve on Frontier Academy's Student Athlete Leadership Council. I used the skills from this council to aid my team in progressing through our state tournament. We eventually became the first soccer team at Frontier Academy High School to go past the Semi-Finals. We didn't stop there, we became the 3A State Runner Up.
During my junior year, I continued concentrating on my leadership skills. I was invited to the Student Athlete Leadership Summit (nominated by my coach.) With the increased leadership role within my team and school, I continued to concentrate on my academics. I know the foundation of my college career is set within the walls of my high school.
Throughout the next year, my sights are set to dedicate myself to my academics and my team to form a well-balanced student-athlete. As I move into my next stage of education, I am envisioning my next steps to fulfill my growth into a successful adult. With my strong faith in God and my supportive family, I’m looking for a college to continue my growth as I devote myself to achieving my long time dreams both on and off the field.
