Personal Statement

Everyone has a special talent.  Unfortunately, some never discover that talent.  I was lucky enough to discover that my talent is in the competitive sport of soccer.  For as long as I can remember, soccer has been my passion.  I started playing soccer when I was four years old and I knew then that soccer would always be a big part of my life.  At age nine, I tried out for and made my first competitive soccer team.  By age ten, I had been promoted to the top team in my age group.  I have been fortunate to play on great teams with amazing teammates and coaches.

I grew up in a military family with both my Mom and Dad serving in the United States Air Force.  At an early age, my parents taught me that service and commitment are important values. They also showed me how important teamwork and communication are to the success of any team and individual.  The values and skills my parents taught me have made me a better student, teammate, and soccer player.  I also realized that soccer would allow me to fit in where ever we moved.  I learned how soccer can help improve my ability to work well with others, while allowing me to discover that I am a natural leader, both on and off the soccer field.

Soccer has taught me many valuable life lessons and has shaped me as a person.  I have the determination and perseverance that is essential to being successful in the classroom and on the soccer field.  I also possess the leadership and character required to make an immediate positive impact on your team.  My parents always taught me to set my goals high and to never give up.  My goal is to attain a sports journalism or business degree while continuing to play the sport I love.  I will not be satisfied until I reach my goal of graduating from college and helping the team win a championship.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
