My main goal is to attend college where I can play and study at a high level. I am interested in studying sports medicine, because I aspire to become a physical therapist. I consider myself a hard worker in both academics and in sports. I am an extrovert and always encourage my teammates in training and games. At the age of 16, I was called up to the U-20 Jamaican national team and impressed the staff even though I was significantly smaller and less experienced. It was a wonderful experience, and I gained a lot of knowledge from it. I've been through a lot because I am a Chinese/Jamaican so during school and sports, I received racial comments and gestures. Unfortunately, this has been happening to me since I was a young boy and was called names like "Chinese monkey", "ching-Chong", and they made hand and eye gestures and neglected me because of my race. Receiving these comments never stopped me from pursing what I wanted. Currently I am a senior at Monarch High School, and I play for the varsity team since I was a sophomore. I look forward to play in a college or University at a D1, D2, or D3 level while balancing my academic education. My parents work very hard to provide for my sister and I, and I am determined to earn a scholarship for college.
