Joseph Bassett V '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Joseph Bassett and I am a class of 2023 goalkeeper in Miami, Florida. I play in the MLS NEXT academy league for South Florida Football Academy,  where I train 4 days out of the week. I sacrifice a lot to practice my craft; in order to go to my practices, I travel almost 100 miles per day because my team practices over an hour away and there are few academy teams located near me. To make my time more useful, 3 days out of the week I do both team training from 4-6 and goalkeeper training from 8-10 at my club field. Between my two sessions, I grab food and do my studying for school. 

I also play in the USPL Premier league with Plantation FC., where I play with and against grown adults. Before that, I have always been a part of the ODP Florida state team and had chances to go to regionals. I am a committed student-athlete with a 4.1 GPA and goals to play professionally as well as collegiate soccer. The best part about me as a player is my work ethic. I take after Kobe Bryant's "Mamba Mentality" and find him to be the most inspirational athlete.
