My name is Nicholas Rombaut, I play Right Wing/Right Back for Miami Rush Kendall U19 MLS Next Academy. I am a Junior, graduating in 2023 and my athletic goal is to play soccer on a challenging college team, contributing from Freshmen year.
Growing up in a large family in Brazil really influenced my life. Always active from a young age, swimming, surfing, and of course playing soccer (Beach and Futsal)! I have a twin brother that has provided a lot of competition since we were born and has played on all the same teams I have since we were 5, but as a Defender!
I learned a different game when I came to the US: disciplined training & leadership skills. I have been lucky to have seen a lot of the US because of being in club travel teams since the age of 8 and played at high levels (Region 3 Premier League, 3 years ODP Pool, and now 4th year in USDA/MLS Academy). Internationally, I have been on tour with my current Club to Medellin, Colombia (January 2020) and was in the first US Club to play the Figo Cup Finals in Portugal (June 2017). Our most recent highlight is making the U17 Dallas Cup Final (April 2021), playing at FC Dallas Stadium live on ESPN! Unfortunately, we lost on PKs.
Academically, I am still undecided on a Major because I like Business and Humanities. In my free time, I play Guitar. I am an Honors Music student and member of Tri-M Society that is involved in community service through concerts and fund-raising activities. I also do community Service with Miami Breakers, teaching young children soccer skills.
