Ethan Marshall '21 Recruiting Profile

Update: We just won USYS SOUTHERN REGIONALS and are headed to NATIONALS later this month! Just won back to back State Championships of Florida and are now headed to South Carolina for Regionals!  Thank you, Coach, for considering my profile!  My name is Ethan Marshall, and I will graduate from Palmetto High School in June of 2021 with a Cambridge A.I.C.E. program diploma.  I have spent the better part of my soccer life training, studying, learning and competing to prepare myself to play soccer at the collegiate level.  I have worked every day to become the best player I can be.   My teams have chased championships at every level that I have competed. This season 2020/21 I am back with the #1 ranked team in Florida and defending State Cup Champion West Florida Flames 03 Elite.  We are competing in the USYS Sunshine Conference Academy Division and are currently undefeated  with only 2 goals against.  We will also be attending numerous College Showcases.   My team is currently ranked by gotsoccer a TOP 10 TEAM IN THE NATION out of over 2,100 teams.  My high school team is the four time defending District Champions and is currently undefeated this season and chasing a state championship.  Last year we battled hard and came up just short of the final four with a one goal loss in the regional final.  In 2019 the club team I played for West Florida Flames 03B Elite Brandon  won the FYSA U-16 State Cup in 2019 and advanced to the USYSA Region III Championship.   The  club team I played for in 2020, Manasota Tigers FSCL Elite 02, competed in the U19 Florida State Competitive League (FSCL) and went undefeated.  I was playing two  years up to increase the level of competition for myself.    I can and have played any position my coaches have asked me to play.  I  am currently playing outside back/mid.  However, I excel  as  an attacker and have proven to be game changer.  When my team needs someone to rise to the occasion and score,  that's when I am at my best!  I love the pressure of knowing that my teammates are counting on me.  I was fortunate enough to score the winning goal my sophomore  season in a come from behind victory in the district championship.   Last season my team  moved through the  playoffs  including a 1 - 0 win on 2/12/2020 to advance to the Class 6A Region 2 Semi Final game where I assisted on the game winning goal.   

I take my academics very seriously as well, and am pursuing the Cambridge AICE diploma at Palmetto High School.  The Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) is an international diploma that students can earn via an advanced academic curriculum and assessment program written and administered by a non-profit department (CIE) of the University of Cambridge in England.   The AICE program courses and examinations are offered during grades 9-12 in schools worldwide registered as CIE Centers.  I am  maintaining  a 4.04 GPA, and will be taking my SAT and ACT tests in the near future.

I have been so blessed in my life.  My parents have supported me and been there for me through every challenge.  I have learned so much from my club and high school coaches, and this has caused my love of our game to continue to grow.  I have really enjoyed playing with my teammates, and we share memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life.  Yet I also look forward to the players I will meet, play with, and get to know at the next level in college.   My goal is to find a university where I can pursue a degree in the business field of study.  I would like to work with a coaching staff that can help me continue to improve as a player and as a person.  I would like to play for a program that will compete for a championship, with a team of players who take the game as seriously as I do.  I would like to find a program where I can reduce the financial burden on my parents through my soccer potential and my academic achievements .  I am preparing myself right now so that I can show up for that first day of preseason training in August of 2021 and be physically ready, mentally prepared, and contribute to our team the moment we step onto the field!  Thank you for taking the time to read this,  and I look forward to learning more about you, your staff, and your program!
