On and off the field, I have always shown that I give 100 percent to everything I do. While I am in love with soccer, academics are a very important priority of mine. I make sure that no matter how much time I put into soccer, I always take care of my academic needs. In high school, I have earned all A’s and currently have a weighted GPA of 4.27, and I am hoping to raise it in the upcoming year by continuing to take challenging classes. I have also been involved with several extracurriculars including Co-President of Student Government, Vice President of Nationals Honors Society, member of My Brother's Keeper and more. In the future, I want to attend a school that is serious and competitive about soccer, but also makes academics a high-priority.
I have been playing soccer for the past 14 years and have fallen in love with the game. I not only love the game, but I love to compete and push myself to be the best I can. I have played on the varsity team since freshman year, where for the first two years, I was fortunate enough to play behind a player who currently plays at Georgia State University. I currently play for East Atlanta FC in USL Academy. I love playing goalkeeper because it requires me to communicate to my entire team. Whether it’s organizing the back line, telling wingers to drop and cover, or even just letting my teammates know what’s going on around them- I am always a part of the game, no matter where the ball is.
Over the summer of 2024, I am working at a lab at Emory University. In my free time, I like to watch soccer, train, hang with friends, and volunteer at different places in the Atlanta area. One thing I particularly enjoy doing is joining groups that address problems in the world. One group, which I led my sophomore year with my two friends, was focused on the inequality of the dress code in Dekalb County. As part of the group, I have spoken at school board meetings and had several meetings with the superintendent. Our group succeeded in changing the dress code. I share that experience to express my love of working for things I believe in.
