Soccer has always been my passion. I have always enjoyed playing many sports but after making the US Developmental Academy, I knew that soccer was something special for me and that if I wanted to take it farther than just high school, I would need to dedicate all my time to the sport. I used to play as a defender but because of my height found myself playing as a goalkeeper more often. I was playing in the semi-final for a state cup game and made a game winning save in penalties. It was as if something inside of me just clicked and from then on I knew I wanted to be a goalkeeper. Goalkeeping is my passion and aligns perfectly with my personality. As a goalkeeper, I enjoy having to quickly assess a situation and determine the best course of action while being a leader both on and off the field.
As an athlete and student, I am very focused on achieving the best results possible. I am very disciplined in both my study habits and training and constantly strive to balance both. I always look forward to training with my team and my goalkeeper coach as I know there is always room to improve and become a better player in every aspect of my game.
I also feel it is very important to help others as well. Whether it is helping the coach pick up after practice or volunteering my time in the community, giving back to others helps keep me grounded and humble so that my focus is not only on being a good student and athlete, but on being a good person too. I know that I would be a strong asset to your program and I hope you do too!
