Having grown up watching my brother, who is 9 years older, play soccer, I always knew that I wanted to be a part of the game. My dad played multiple sports growing up, so we were always instilled with the value of staying active and the importance of discipline that sports bring. But, it was always important that we found something that we love to do. Soccer has always been that for me.
It wasn’t until my family moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2013, and I started playing against better competition, that I realized loving the game wasn’t enough. If I was going to be able to complete with other players my age and market myself as a top tier player, I was going to have to train harder to develop my skills. I began working with a personal trainer to develop my speed and agility, which has now become my most valuable asset. Seeing the result of my effort has given me the confidence, as well as earning me, a leadership role on my team.
