I have been kicking a soccer ball ever since I could walk. My dad passed his love of the game onto me and it is an important part of our relationship. Soccer has helped me grow in many ways, but especially as a leader. During games and practice, I have lots of opportunities to communicate, encourage, and show respect to my teammates and coaches. I have a competitive desire to win, but I realize that soccer is first and foremost a team sport. I pride myself on being a good teammate. I am a very coachable player and want to continue learning and growing my skills to be the best I can be.
One of my biggest challenges in the beginning of my competitive years, was working on my endurance and physicality. I put a lot of effort into being fast and strong, and can now say that those are among my top attributes. When I first started training I was at an eleven minute mile. I had a goal of dropping my time to under seven minutes. I am currently at a six minute, forty second mile.
I enjoyed playing high school soccer in the fall. My team took state for the third year in a row and was ranked 22nd nationally. In addition to playing for my club team, I was also part of my state's ODP team where we also had great success. I'm excited to see what opportunities will be available by playing soccer in college.
