Liam Drehkoff '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi. My name is Liam Drehkoff, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to introduce myself as a potential contributor to your program, campus and community. Soccer has been a core part of my life since I could walk, and I have worked hard for the opportunity to excel at my current level of competition and to take the next step at the collegiate level.

My role on every team I've been on - whether as a striker and goal-scorer early on, or in the last 6 years as a center back - has been as a leader and as a leading contributor at whatever I've been asked to do. I've been selected captain a number of times, whether club or school, and I take pride in bonding with my teammates and enjoy building and improving our team's competitiveness and results.

On the field, I would describe myself as fairly active in the air, whether attacking on set pieces or defending in a variety of different situations. With the ball, I'm often looking to play long balls or play simple switches out of the back when I see the opportunity, and I'm proud of my accuracy and pass completion success. Defensively, I work hard to neutralize 1:1 attacks and have enough speed at my position to close off counters and long runs.

Outside of soccer, my priority is clearly academic work and achievement, and I've challenged myself in high school with good results from a rigorous course load. I am a loving older brother to my two sisters, and I enjoy spending time with them snow and water skiing, hanging out at the lake, or at family events with my cousins.

I look forward to continuing my soccer journey in college, where I expect to find a great fit between my academic pursuits and the opportunity to contribute to a successful and growing program. Thank you, again, for your time and attention.
