Personal Statement
My name is Adam Shakya, I am currently in grade 11 at British School Al Khubairat in Abu Dhabi. I currently play in Forza FC and have previously played 1st division academy level in the UAE at Al Jazira and Bani Yas. I am a central midfielder whose main skills are Game intelligence, versatility and mental strength. On the pitch, I’m vocal and try to be creative with the ball and my play.
My journey as a student athlete is fueled by a singular passion, soccer. My goal is to be able to play college soccer at the highest level I can, as I believe it is beneficial to me being able to achieve my ultimate goal of becoming a professional soccer player, whilst providing me with a degree.
Balancing sports and academics has been a defining aspect of my journey. Whilst soccer has been my driving force on the field, I have also maintained a commitment to excelling in the classroom. I approach my studies with dedication and determination, recognizing that success is crucial for achieving my long-term goals.
Furthermore, my leadership abilities and commitment make me a valuable asset both on and off the field. As a captain of my soccer team, I have learned to lead by example through dedication and my work ethic.
Looking ahead, I am eager to continue my academic and athletic pursuits at the collegiate level. I am confident that my passion for soccer, combined with my dedication to excellence and leadership, will make me a valuable addition to any team.
