Personal Statement
Ever since I know myself I will find myself in the playgrounds. From elementary to high school I have been involved in all sports from track and field – 60 , 80 , 100 meters and long jump - to basket ball and soccer. As a 6th grader in Athens – Phychico College in Athens, Greece I was schools’ champion in 60 meters with a record of 7.82”. I was a member of the soccer varsity team and of the basketball team.
At the age of 10 years old I enrolled to the soccer academy of Doxa Anoixis and paved my way to play for the team in official tournaments organized by Greek Football Federation. As a high school student, I devoted myself in training and playing soccer both for school’s varsity and for the team of Doxa Anoixis up until 2016 when I joined Olympiacos F.C. soccer organization ( among the elite Teams in Greece )playing for the U17 squad.
My natural athleticism built in a 6’0 strong body of 180 pounds with a recent record of 11’24 in 100 meters, enhanced by high level worked out soccer skills, allow me to excel in the offence either in the wings or in the center.Recently professional Greek teams have inquired on my interest to play professional soccer when I graduate high school in June 2019, for as the say “ I am a prospect in soccer”.
However my prime goal is to pursue my undergraduate studies in the United States majoring in Sports Management and with the intent to play soccer for my university. For me it is profound that undergraduate education will offer me the opportunity to structure a successful and healthy life, while playing soccer in the university will allow me the opportunity to test my skills in a higher level and if I manage to invite the interest of a professional team, then, I might consider playing soccer professionally.
All in all I will welcome the opportunity to study in the United States, play soccer and I can only reassure my future coaches of my devotion, my team spirit, my hard working ethic, my willingness to fight for the victory with respect to my teammates and the opponent, knowing that “Even if I ever fail, I will stand up and I will work harder to become even better”.
