Personal Statement
I am a born and bred soccer player, the result of generations who have shared their passion for soccer, both as players and fans My grandfather, father, and siblings are all soccer players, athletes and sports lovers. I was inducted into this family tradition when I was very young and remember little of my life prior to when I started playing the game.
The character traits I display on the soccer field were passed on to me by my family. My passion for the game drives me to put in the hard hours of training necessary to be the best player I can be and enables me to always maintain a positive attitude on the field . I have worked hard at improving my speed, strength, and technical skills and have developed a deep understanding of the game’s strategies. I am also a reliable teammate and am willing to make personal sacrifices in order to ensure the team’s success. My family members have instilled in me the traits that have influenced me and my performance throughout my life
Beyond soccer, I enjoy traveling tο the Greek islands and the United States and having fun with my friends and family. I also remain focused on my academic work. My favorite subject is math, and I am starting the IB program this fall. I love being part of my school community and have served on my school’s student council. I also speak Greek and English fluently.
Both as a player and a student, I willingly accept criticism; cooperate with my coaches, teammates, and teachers; and am disciplined, focused, and responsible. I believe that my core beliefs and qualities are my greatest strengths against the challenges that push me to grow as a person, athlete, and member of my community. Perhaps nowhere else has this lesson been more evident in my life than on the soccer field.
