Personal Statement
Dear sir,
I am an 18 year old soccer player from Auckland, New Zealand and my ambition is to use my talents to secure a scholarship to play and study in the USA. Since a young age, I have been professionally coached by a UEFA A License coach so have a high level of tactical understanding. I have also been coached since a young age by New Zealand's only player to play professionally in South America as well as coaches from Santos FC in Brazil who come out to our programme yearly as part of a partnership we have. I have competed against many NZ U17 and NZ U20 internationals in NZ's top U19 league, the Auckland Premier League, and have showed my superiority against these players. Due to politics in soccer here, I haven't yet represented my national side. I wish to share with you my Center Back recruiting video and invite you to learn more about my academic and life skills through my supporting documents.
My objective in soccer is to play at a high level in a Division 1 university team, developing my game sufficiently to open up an opportunity for me to play in the MLS or in Europe. I wish to study a double bachelor degree in Business and Sports and Recreation in USA. My goal is to combine my love of sport and physical activity with my interest in business so that in the future I can pursue a career that I love and am passionate about. I will learn all that I can and then open my own business. Another goal of mine is to gain life and overseas experience, while I am young and before I settle down, learning how to fully take care of myself and be fully independent. Experiencing a new culture, meeting new people and throwing myself in the “deep end” are things that really excite me.
