Personal Statement
My name is Oan Djorkaeff, I am a young soccer player looking to pursue my passion in college. Born in a family of soccer players (both my grandfather and father were french international players), I quickly caught the soccer bug. I subsequently lived in Germany, England and France before moving to New York to attend the Lycée Francais of New York (LFNY), where I became the youngest player ever to join the Varsity team, while simultaneously playing for the Manhattan Soccer Club (MSC). In August 2013, I left New York to join one of the most prestigious French soccer academies: The Association Sportive de Saint-Etienne (ASSE). My program there consisted of training and school. My week was composed of around 35 hours of school and 12 hours of soccer. In June 2014, I decided to leave the ASSE to join an equivalently renowned team: Evian Thonon Gaillard F.C. (ETG), where I am currently following a similar program. Both the ASSE and ETG have a professional team in the Ligue 1. Apart from soccer, I am also invested academically. My passion for soccer coupled with my academic ambitions make me a balanced yet driven candidate for college. My dream is to come back to the United States to study (management) while pursuing my passion.
