Personal Statement
My name is Sriram
Chidambaram and I am a 6’ 0’’ goalkeeper from Bangalore, India who will graduate high school as part of the class of 2021. I started playing soccer when I was 6 years old and I began goalkeeping when I was 11 years old. I have been playing Soccer at the highest level within my state of Karnataka for the past 4 years. Soccer is my biggest passion and I am ready to do whatever it takes to become the best goalkeeper I can possibly be.
I am currently the starter for my u-18 club team, Football Academy of Bangalore, and I have started for my high school team for the past 4 years. I played in the u-15 i-League for two years and represented my State in the u-17 CISCE National Tournament.
One of my biggest strengths is my ability to balance Sports with Academics. I am currently in the top 5% of my class with a 4.0 GPA and 1500 SAT score. I aim to pursue a career in Sports Science after Soccer and I hope to merge my athletic and academic aspirations by playing college soccer.
I am driven to achieve success, both on the field and in the classroom, and I am willing to put in the extra hours of work. I am diligent, passionate, and open to learning, and I am confident that these qualities of mine will help me become a successful student athlete.
