Personal Statement

To keep this short but sweet I think its best to start off by explaining that my main aim is to make it as a soccer player to a highest level as I possibly can, coming to America to do that would be a dream. Despite that being my long term goal I would like to address that my work in the classroom is not at fault as I am committed to both making a career for myself from studying as well as attempting to achieve my goals.

I believe I am a good candidate for any team that I play for due to the passion I have the game, I am not a quiet player, I will show my disappointment and I will show my happiness on football pitch all in one game, I display my emotions as it is not just a hobby for me, it is generally a big part of my life.

I play as a "right back" at home but it is called a outside back in America, I play on the right usually but I am very capable of playing on the left. I have only played as an outside back for 2 years, my secondary position is left winger, despite my defensive capabilities I know how to play as an attacking winger, I have 4 years of experience in this role, I moved to an outside back as it suited the formation of my team 5-3-2 and allowed me to attack as well as defend. my tertiary position is an out and out attacker, I have a year of experience in this role where I managed 22 goals.

I consider myself different from other candidates firstly because, I am an athlete from Northern Ireland which u rarely see achieve scholarship status and so it would be a personal achievement for this cause. in terms of ability I consider myself to have a very wise mind despite a young age with many years in the game with ages above me such as senior teams or teams +2 years above the age I was/am. I believe I am a very versatile player, I will pay where I am asked. I will give 100% no matter where it is or who it is against. I have many main strengths, I have good pace, I am good at tackling and intercepting on defence and going forward I am a good long/short passer, I cross well and have a decent shot. I am a set piece specialist, I take all corners, free kicks as well as penalties for my teams.

however like all players I do have my weaknesses which some don't like to include to put off managers but id rather be honest about myself as a player, I am weaker in the areas of heading the ball and strength wise I am not the strongest as well as this I am often caught forward than doing my defensive duties but this has been significantly improved from moving to outside back. however I have been working hard on getting any weaknesses I have and attempting to improve them as well as constantly improving my overall game to become the player I aspire to be.

in terms of some statistics so far in my career in 8 years of the game I have managed 121 goals and counting, I do not register my assists but I normally end up with an average of 14-15 a season due to set pieces and my attacking play style. I have won 10 trophies with club, and 2 with school, I have 1 top scorer award and 2 player of the year awards. I aim by the end of 2018 to win another 2 trophies with club and 1 with school and I want to be in with a chance at an individual award such as player of the year or players player of the year.

to finish, my academics is quite good and I give my best, I will upload my sat score when I take the test, my grade point average is around 3.6/borderline 3.7. I aim to study in sports management or coaching as I want to stay as close ties with soccer as possible and if not sports in general because I just love the world of sport.

thank you for taking your time to read and please ask me any information you further require.
