Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
My name is Antoni González. I was born on April 4, 2007, in Barcelona, and I am currently about to begin my second year of baccalaureate (the last year of high school) at the Real Monasterio de Santa Isabel School in Barcelona. Last season, I had the opportunity to play for a Spanish semi-professional team, UE Sant Andreu, where I competed in the "Primera División Catalana" (under 19). I was a key part of the team, playing in the midfield throughout the entire season.
The reason I am writing to you is that I aspire to pursue my degree at your university while also competing at a high level of soccer.
I am 17 years old and from Barcelona, Spain, where I started playing soccer at the age of 5. I am 5'10" tall and weigh 138 pounds. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to play for a variety of teams, including UE Sant Andreu, Unificación Llefià (where I competed in the same division as major teams like FC Barcelona, RCD Espanyol, CF Damm…), EF Premier Barcelona, and FC Martinenc.
I would also like to mention that during my time with EF Premier Barcelona, I was coached by Alexander Becerra, who is currently the Assistant Coach for the First Team at CD Tolima, Colombia. He has also previously coached the first team of Deportivo Independiente Medellín, Bogotá FC, and is the founder of CD Dinhos, also in Colombia.
My average grade in the first year of baccalaureate was 8.7, which would be approximately equivalent to a 3.5 GPA. I am planning to major in Business Marketing, with a strong interest in Economics as well.
Some of my athletic achievements include being named to BCN’s Junior All-Star team at the MIC tournament, where I was awarded Best Midfielder; winning the Catalonia Second Division with EF Premier Barcelona; finishing as one of the Top 10 scorers of the season with EF Premier Barcelona; and competing in the top division of U12 Futsal with Cet 10 Artós Sports Club.
