Personal Statement
My name is Stefan Batocanin and I am from Belgrade, Serbia. Since the age of 6, I've been playing soccer. Soccer is my passion and has taught me so many things in life. My biggest personal goal would be to go pro sometime in the future. I love to compete and having the chance to play at an American university would be a dream come true for me. Although I'm from Serbia, I lived in Maryland, USA from August 2018 through June of 2019. I received an opportunity to be an exchange student in the USA thanks to the FLEX program and the US Department of State. This was a special award to receive since only 50 students from my country received this award out of 3000 students who applied. While in the US, I was a starting player for the varsity soccer team at my high school and I was playing at Mountaineer United SC in Morgantown, WV. Academically, I'm attending a tough high school in Serbia which has prepared me well for my year in the US as my GPA was 3.675 unweighted and 3.99 weighted. If the opportunity presents itself for me to come to the USA for college, I will give it my all on my school’s soccer team and I will work hard to perform well academically in school. Thank you for checking and reading my profile and I hope you might consider me as a possibility for your team.
