Personal Statement
My name is Santiago Piñeros, and I am from Bogota, Colombia, I am currently 16 years old. Soccer has been my passion since the tender age of 4, and I've held onto a lifelong dream of playing soccer at a high level. My collegiate goals are: firstly, to pursue my studies at a reputable American university, and secondly, to excel in soccer. I aim not only to compete against others but also against myself, continually striving for excellence. As a versatile player, I bring a polyfunctional skill set to any team, having played in various positions, including defensive and attacking midfield as well as center back. My adaptability on the field and experience in different roles make me a valuable asset. Beyond my athletic abilities, I value being a person with a good-natured and friendly personality, capable of creating a positive team environment. As a potential captain and leader, I am confident in my ability to contribute to the team's success when needed. My character is built on emotional resilience, allowing me to stay composed in high-pressure situations. I demonstrate my dedication through rigorous training, spending four days a week with my soccer club, and dedicating the fifth day to competitions. This demanding schedule reflects my commitment to maintaining peak physical condition and showcases my athleticism. Recognizing the importance of academics, I prioritize maintaining appropriate grades for a successful academic journey. I possess the necessary skills and dedication to excel not only in the field but also in my studies. Life, to me, is about balance, and I consider myself a well-rounded person ready to make a positive impact both athletically and academically. I have been selected as the Head boy of my Class 2025 as a recognition from my peers, teachers and the principal of the school.
