Personal Statement
Hi there!
My name is Owen Rennie, and I have been playing soccer since I was 2 years old in the UK. Previously, I have been at a premier league side, AFC Bournemouth, from the ages 9-16 from which I have picked up advanced technical skills and an astute tactical understanding of the game. I have also had the privilege of representing my country of Wales as an U15 player in national training camps where I have played with players who have gone on to make their professional debuts.
I have been fortunate enough to have been accepted as a Sport’s Scholar into one the best soccer programs in the UK at Bradfield College. Under the wing of my coach, Luke Webb, I have transformed into a player who strives for excellence. My resilience, curiosity and responsibility has pathed the way for my development both on and off the pitch and I have only benefitted as a result.
I apply nothing less than 100% to every training session and match and I am hungry to learn. My endeavour for success makes me a highly competitive and ruthless person. These qualities have allowed me to represent England in the Independent Schools Football Association national team and gain interest from clubs in the country. Whilst my main focus is to become a footballer, I believe Education and Soccer come hand-in-hand and Bradfield has been the best place for me to do this. It has nurtured me into a well-rounded individual with a holistic approach to life.
