Personal Statement
I feel ready for the next big step in my life. I want to join a competitive soccer program at a school that can help me prepare academically for my professional life.
I have played soccer since I was five years old. The sport has heavily influenced my life, therefore I am very passionate and competitive about it. As a player, I was able to understand the importance and value of hard work and dedication from a very early age. I would fight for every ball and give it my all as if it was the last one. Team play was also a part of my game as a very young player. I have always understood the importance of playing for the team and not for myself. These key aspects of my game have not changed a bit. I am a team player, a leader, and a fighter in the field. I have been a high-level athlete for the majority of my life, I am a karate black belt, and I have represented my country in various international competitions, winning medals in combat. That made me disciplined and taught how to deal with pressure. It also helped shape my warrior spirit in soccer.
When it comes to my playstyle, my role is to use my positioning and my vision to transition the play from defense to offense. My defensive skills are essential to my game, smart positioning and my low center of gravity allow me to protect the ball and shift a defensive play into an offensive opportunity. On offense, I use my vision and good decision making to find space and pass the ball to an open teammate.
Eating healthy and exercising, is part of my daily routine. This has inspired me to find an interest in nutrition and sport science. Due to how important having a healthy lifestyle is to me, I would like to pursue a major related to these areas.
