Personal Statement
My collegiate goal in the near future is to continue to play college soccer at the highest level. Playing soccer in college will give me an opportunity to improve myself as a player and as a member of a team. Playing soccer abroad has afforded me the opportunity to learn a different, more refined and aggressive style of play and to interact with Colombian and International players who are very passionate about soccer. In addition, as I would like to work in the International Relations/Business field I would like to attend a college or University that challenges me as a player and as a student, but above all as a person.
I will complement any team I'm fortunate to play for as I am a highly motivated team player, who strives to be better at all that I do. I don't take criticism personally, rather as motivation to improve. I was recently selected to play for an Elite Club here in Bogota which affords me the opportunity to play with Elite players, thus allowing me to improve and grow.
Colegio Nueva Granada is a highly academically ranked International school in Bogota, Colombia, where a very high percentage of the high schools Seniors go on to study at prestigious colleges worldwide. Besides training for soccer, I take a full academic schedule, to include Advanced Placement courses. I'm fluent in Spanish and English and I'm currently taking Mandarin. What makes me unique is the passion and dedication that I put into soccer and academics. Volunteering is also something that I have taken pride in and have volunteered to assist with hurricane victims in my native Puerto Rico, as well as serving as the Vice President of the Alpha Charity League in Texas.
