Personal Statement
As a proud citizen of El Salvador, I have been passionate about soccer since I was five years old. Over the years, I have learned that discipline, consistency, and hard work are essential to excelling on and off the field. Soccer has been my passion and a way to channel my determination. I’ve had the opportunity to participate in multiple international and national tournaments, as well as soccer camps in the US. These experiences have sharpened both my soccer IQ and skills, and have been a fundamental piece in developing leadership qualities that have enabled me to spread positivity and a hard work ethic among my teammates.
I believe that playing college soccer would be the fulfillment of my dream. As a team leader, I value collaboration, constructive criticism, and continually growing in the game. In my home country, I have won several local tournaments at both club and Varsity levels, including regional championships. My journey has taught me the importance of teamwork, and I am eager to bring my experience and dedication to a collegiate team where I can further contribute and learn.
Academically, I am committed to maintaining a high standard, with a 3.8 GPA, participation in AP courses, and roles such as vice president of the student government and NJHS member. I strive to balance sports and academics and plan to pursue an Engineering major in college. My goal is to continue growing as a student-athlete, combining my passion for soccer with a strong academic foundation.
