Personal Statement
I’ve always loved sport from a very young age, getting involved in Soccer, Rugby, Cross Country, Athletics and Cricket. One sport for which I have held an everlasting passion for is Soccer. I’ve been playing since I was 5 and I’ve been given excellent opportunities to develop as a player through my school and regional club. The school has given me incredible opportunities to train and be part of the senior rugby, athletics, cross-country, cricket and football team, where I have acquired leadership skills in captaining the cricket and athletics squad- to even becoming a prefect for the school. I am left-footed and versatile which means that I have been able to develop in various positions over my youth career so far, playing at left-back, left-midfield, striker and even central midfield. I would consider my biggest strengths in soccer being my vision of the game, allowing me to read the game and make consistent passes through the opposition. The successes I have experienced regionally through athletics also has aided me significantly on the pitch, where pace is an essential part of the game for me in order to make tackles and dribble past the opposition.
Outside of sport, academics are a key part of life, building the bridges needed to secure a good future. I am privileged to be part of The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School, a school rich in its 482 year history. The school is incredibly well-known for achieving incredible grades whilst holding the title of best comprehensive sport school in the country. The school has helped me develop as a person and attain consistently high grades, of which translate into a 3.8 GPA in America. The constant support I get from the school has helped me understand what I want with my future, and that would be to stay within the sport and become an agent.
Outside of sport and academics, I have also been raised to attend my church, St Mary’s Magdalene. As well as this, I am currently going through my silver Duke of Edinburgh award, where I go through 3 day expeditions of hiking in the country, whilst developing my physical, volunteering and skills aspect of life. I currently hold a job which requires me to help teach children from the ages of 2-8 swim and grow into a high standard of swimming.
My dedication to the sport in the last ten years will transpire on the pitch, where I always give my all as I continue to want to develop to a higher level of performance every time I step onto the pitch.
