Personal Statement
I am a passionate and dedicated football/soccer goalkeeper. I am based in Bath, United Kingdom and at the age of 6, with the World Cup in Brazil 2014 instigating my football career I joined a local club and was immersed in competitive football (soccer).
My football career has developed my athletic skills, my character and my aspirations to study in the USA.
Throughout the last academic year I attended a rigorous trial process to join SGS Men’s Football Academy. I get up at 5:30am 3 times a week to get to college for training and gym work at 7am, my training regime requires a foundation of discipline and hard work. I have attended training camps at St George’s Park, the official home of England’s national football teams receiving elite-level training from some of the top coaches in the country. I am always refining my agility, reflexes, communication and technical skills to consistently improve my game. I am able to read the game and anticipate opponents moves, these skills have been critical in high-pressure situations.
One of my proudest moments was during the English Schools’ Football Association national tournament, playing for Beechen Cliff School, where I saved a penalty in the quarters, and one in the shootout of the semi-final. We were runners up (out of 700+ schools) at the end of the final game, however, the experience taught me the importance of resilience and mental toughness - qualities that extend beyond the field and into every aspect of my life.
I am committed to my studies, understanding that education is vital for a successful future. I am interested in pursuing a degree in sports science, sports management or sports psychology as these subjects cover my passion for football (soccer) and support the development of the game and the athletes. I have excellent prioritisation and time management skills enabling me to balance my academic responsibilities with my training.
Studying in the USA presents an incredible opportunity for me to experience a new culture, develop my skills and compete at a high level. I am committed to bringing my passion, dedication, and positive attitude to a USA university, where I hope to engage with fellow athletes and contribute to a culture of excellence and inclusivity.

Kit started at Beechen Cliff School in September 2019. He remained here until he completed his GCSE exams and left at the end of the academic year in 2024. During his time at Beechen Cliff, I was Kit's Head of House for four years. Kit demonstrated many of the core values of the school - aspiration, compassion, independence and respect - and was popular amongst his peers and well-liked by staff. Kit took on many opportunities during his five years at the school which enabled him to develop into the person he is today. Kit played a big part in the school football programme and was part of the U14 team that reached the ESFA final in 2022. In year 11, Kit also represented the Beechen Cliff U18 team, playing two years up. We were sad to see Kit leave but we look forward to watching his football journey over the coming years.

Kit spent five years at Beechen Cliff, during which time he was well liked and popular among his peers, and developed into a mature and thoughtful young person.
Kit is very personable and has excellent social skills so is able to get on with everyone he comes into contact with. He impressed me with his determination to meet targets, and is willing to seek support and feedback to help him achieve his goals. Kit is a hard worker and doesn’t let setbacks deter him, instead he uses them as learning opportunities to spur him to move forwards.
Kit was able to effectively manage his studies alongside football commitments, and was conscientious about catching up with work when his commitments clashed. Kit treats others well and is a good team player as he is able to support his peers and communicate in a respectful way.
Kit would be an asset to any organisation and team he joins and I know he has a very successful future ahead of him.
