Personal Statement
My aspiration is to play collegiate soccer at a university where I can find a good balance between academics and my passion, soccer, or 'football' as I prefer to call it. I have been playing soccer since I was six years old, as well as attending Italian soccer games in Serie A since birth. In Italy almost everyone plays soccer...it is almost as if a simple soccer ball can unite pretty much anyone and everyone. I am a very composed player with good ball control skills. I don't only dribble around alone but I also strive as a team player, as I always look for opportunities to pass the ball to my teammates and set them up. My approach to the game is strategic, as I know a lot about the game following soccer quite closely. I have a really good shot with my left foot, my passing skills are strong, as I always look for through balls, and finally my dribbling is superb. During my collegiate experience I want to study Business, but more precisely Marketing, Finance or International business. My current GPA is 3.3, but I continue to strive to improve. My school is an IB school, so coursework is very challenging and requires a lot of dedication. During the 11th grade I participated in many extracurricular activities, and I did a lot of volunteering, which we call CAS experiences. One of my personal highlights as a soccer player this past Spring season was when my team participated in a tournament at H-Farm college, where we won the tournament and I delivered 3 goals and 4 assists, one of which led us to win the whole tournament. I have a great coach who has continued to praise me for my efforts and improvement that I have made in the last couple of years. My goal is to continue to better myself as a player, both mentally and physically. I was born and raised in Italy but have dual citizenship (Italian and USA), as my mom is American.
