Luke Broadhurst '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a balanced, friendly, compassionate and driven individual who is determined to be the best I can possibly be as I enter the next stage of my life.

I come from a family with a real strong work ethic and a determination to overcome adversity. My father was a professional athlete in his late teens and early 20's and he has passed on to me the traits that helped him along the way such as determination, resiliency, attention to detail, discipline and focus.

I finished High School in the UK last summer with good exams grades. I enjoy studying the academic subjects such as maths as well as the subjects relating to sport and the science behind it.

Athletically, I have played top level soccer in the UK from 11 years old to present day.

I represented my town from U11 to U15 and was a contracted member of a professional soccer academy (Rotherham United FC) from U12 to U15.

I am currently a member of the Barnsley FC shadow scholarship program combining sports studies with a full time, high level soccer program.

I am a very committed soccer player who gives everything for the team. I enjoy playing in midfield and being the orchestrator of the team.

I grew up from age 2 to 10 in Canada and have real aspirations to study and play soccer in North America. 

The positivity that I see when visiting North America really appeals to me and having spoken to others who have studied and played soccer for US colleges, it is a goal I intend to aim for over the next couple of years.
