Personal Statement
Soccer provides an outlet for me to be totally immersed in the moment where only the game matters. There has never been a time when I was not interested in Soccer: through watching leagues across the world, to playing in several tournaments both internationally and locally. I am passionate about the beautiful game.
As a player, competition excites me. Being able to play soccer in North America will provide me with another chapter in my journey with several competitions and opposing teams to face. I believe that I am a great candidate for teams as firstly I am a team player. My awareness and knowledge of the game is at a high level and I possess leadership qualities, have great determination and I am very vocal on the pitch with my teammates. I will always give my all until the final whistle since the name on the front of the uniform is more important than the name on the back. These qualities paired with my versatility, my ability to play multiple positions, along with my commitment to the sport, puts me ahead of several other candidates.
I am eager to play in North America as there are far more opportunities available for both exposure to play multiple teams, as well as opportunity to develop as a player with various coaching staff. I am looking for a college which can provide me with the strong foundation to pursue a career in Engineering in the future. Both soccer and Engineering will help in my personal development – Engineering being an exact science, while soccer is a creative and expressive artform. My goal is to pursue both in an environment which is conducive to learning, and with a diverse school population. Along with these, I am also looking for a college which will provide me with sufficient playing time to allow me to develop into an even better player. With the ability to manage my time between sports and school, I believe I will be able to keep my studies to a high standard, while still giving my all during training and matches.
