Personal Statement
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Kwabena Osei Asafo-Adjei from Ghana
I am a soccer player under currently training at HETEMA FC United Academy . As mainly an attacking midfielder, I have trained to be able to play in Central Midfield and the Regista position. Successfully, I moved through the ranks and I am now the assistant captain of the Academy.
As a kid, the first gift my parents gave me, as far as I know, was a little sized soccer ball and Nike Total 90 soccer cleats. Being born to an avid soccer father, who could not go pro because he could not afford to be enrolled in the academy, I was trained as a Center Forward. I joined my first academy, Alexis Sports Club, at the age of nine. There I played as a center forward. As I hit adolescence, genetics began to play a role and I ended up as only 170cm tall. Due to my physical limitations I was shifted down the field to a Right Wing. I forced to learn that role but was a little bit difficult for me because I was not physical enough but I managed to deliver since I am naturally blessed with footwork, I was able to dribble past defenders with pace and pass to my teammate to score and I sometimes scored myself. Although that role was enigmatic, I never liked it that much because I liked to work in space and control the tempo of the game.
When I moved to Hetema at age 15, the Head Coach, Mr. Emmanuel Agyei moved me to the Midfield role because the team had enough forwards than midfielders, I developed quickly in that role because I was given the chance to work in my own space and allowed me to drop deep to receive passes and then thrust forward or pass a teammate in an advanced position.
I will be very delighted if I am allowed to participate and make a big impact to the team
