Personal Statement
I am very goal oriented and when I put my mind to something, I do everything in my power to achieve it. I have a strong work ethic that has set me apart from my teammates for years now, and I’m sure it will be like this in college too.
I have no trouble adapting, since I’ve lived in 4 different countries (Italy, Russia, Ukraine, and France), gone to 5 different schools in my 18 years of life and I have never been scared of change, so you don’t have to worry about me fitting in or feeling comfortable in America. Finally, I’m fluent in 4 languages (Italian, Russian, English and French) and can communicate with a lot of people (and international teammates).
The fact that I’ve lived in 4 different countries means I played in different environments and learned to play different styles of soccer, which means I won’t have trouble adapting to new styles of the game.
I was twice featured in the Lombardy XI of the week for the U16 category in 2019/20.
I’ve undergone several trials with pro academies: Dynamo Kyiv, Dynamo Moscow, Torpedo Moscow, Arsenal Kyiv, Obolon-Brovar Kyiv. I've been selected twice, for Obolon-Brovar Kyiv and Torpedo Moscow, while I also trained multiple times with Arsenal Kyiv, though I did not make the cut in the end.
I have hobbies outside of soccer (mainly writing) and hope to be a part of the university's school paper. I am also developing an interest in photography. This means that I can be an active student on campus and improve the image of the Men's Soccer team. I am also a very hard working and good student, and will aim to raise the team's GPA as much as I can (All-Academic team selections are among my biggest goals for college). My academics can also mean that my spot on the team won't really affect the athletic budget.
My biggest dream is to live and work in the US and experience American culture as a young adult. The first step towards that is obviously college, a place where I would like to study Sports Management and combine it with a competitive soccer experience. I really hope to win a National Championship as well.
No matter the division I’m going to play in, I am going to do everything in my power to bring a National Championship back to campus and make the entire university proud of the men’s soccer team.
