Personal Statement
Soccer has been my passion for my entire life. I began playing at the age of four after being introduced to the game by a friend, and instantly fell in love. Over the years, I have played soccer in Singapore, Vietnam, India, and currently, Nigeria. I have been part of various soccer academies around the world, most noticeably, Barca Academy (Mumbai and Lagos), Clique Sports (Lagos), City of Lagos (Lagos), SSA (Ho Chi Minh City), and English Soccer School (Singapore). Furthermore, I have participated in two Barca World Cups in Spain, Barca Asia Pacific tournament in Delhi, as well as other international tournaments in countries such as Dubai, Ghana, Senegal, etc.
I was the under-15 soccer captain for my school, and recently, I was honoured with the award for the school soccer MVP of the year. I am a multi-faceted, diverse, and a well-rounded person. Having lived in six countries, change is something normal to me. I've worked with and been in teams with people from all over the world, which has given me varied experience and has made me a great team player. My ultimate goal is to be able to play college soccer, and I am 100% committed to do whatever it takes.
In terms of academics, I have consistently been a high achiever. I am entering my Junior year, and will be opting for a full IB diploma with these subjects:
HL Math AA, HL Physics, HL Economics
SL Spanish, SL English, SL Psychology
I am looking for a college with strong computer science and economics programs, and would love to pursue my love for soccer along with my academic interests.
