Personal Statement
I was born in Switzerland however, at the age of two my family moved to Kenya where I was first introduced to the game of soccer. We then moved to Morocco and it was there that I had my first real experience playing on a club team. When I was eleven, we moved to Budapest, Hungary and it was there where I made a significant acceleration in my soccer abilities. It was extremely difficult to integrate into the club team in Budapest due to language (my coach did not speak one word of English nor did I speak Hungarian) as well as a rather fierce dislike towards foreigners entering the team. I realized that I would have to fight for my place on the team or find another sport. I began to develop a sense of competitiveness and a fighting spirit. I attended the four practices a week religiously and made it clear to all that I was 100% devoted which ended up putting me on a great team where I sharpened my skills and made friends that which I still have today. We moved back to Switzerland one and a half years ago and since then I have been playing on the varsity team at The International School of Lausanne as well as on my Club team Prilly where we are at the top of our division. I start and play full games.
Some of my personal strengths include the ability to integrate regardless of language, culture and style of play. I make it a point to never bring a negative attitude to the team whether it be on or off the field. I treat my coaches and team-mates with more than just respect, I treat them like family.
My goal is to play soccer in college at the highest level possible on the west coast. I currently have a 3.40 GPA in school and know school is most important.
