Personal Statement
My name is Josh Andrews, I am a rising College freshman for Nigel James Elite Academy (also known as Kingstonian FC U18).
I have previously played for soccer teams in China, Singapore and the UK, and I have participated in international tournaments such as the Gothia World Youth Cup.
I can play any midfield position (defensive, box to box and attacking), as I mostly play attacking midfield for my School, and box to box as well as defensive midfield previously for Windsor FC and now Kingstonian FC U18.
I pride myself on working extremely hard in defence, and being committed in the tackle to help win the ball for my team. I am also very comfortable in attacking situations, dribbling in tight areas, playing through balls to wingers and strikers. I additionally enjoy taking and scoring shots form long range - in my 10th grade season for Windsor U16s, the majority of my 16 goals were from outside the box. I am proficient at short and long range passing, driving with the ball and receiving the ball on the half turn from the centre back to switch the play.
Throughout my footballing career, I have enjoyed uplifting and encouraging my teammates, and my goal is to bring a positive, hardworking attitude to a college soccer squad, whilst performing to the best of my abilities in training and match situations. In addition to soccer, I am extremely hardworking academically, and have been on the higher honor roll all 3 years of high school; I graduated high school with an IB 42/45 points . I aim to continue this productive, diligent attitude to academics in college and study a business management major, with a minor in psychology.
