Personal Statement
I was born and raised in Chisinau, Moldova. However I moved to Belgrade, Serbia when I was only 12. I have a very good sports background as I played street football since I learnt to walk, practiced competitive taekwondo and won awards such as European Champion. In Belgrade, Serbia I decided to quit martial arts and continue with soccer and have no distractions. While in Belgrade, Serbia I jumped in and out of clubs as a youngster, a small local team, FK Rakovica and finally FK IMT. It was a pleasure for me to compete in a new country and prove all my skills to everyone for the 6 years I was there. I improved a lot and definitely learnt new skills. Which brings me now to 2024. I discovered an opportunity to join the C.F Getafe academy and applied for a trial which ended up being successful. At 16 years old I had to move out of my home and the country I basically grown up in, in order to pursue my dream. In addition to soccer I practice competitive MMA as martial arts still remains a passion which I love to combine with my love for soccer. It is a privilege for me to compete in such a soccer environment since it is world known that Spanish soccer has some of the best academies and competition. Living alone has taught me discipline and to always leave my comfort zone as that would be the only way I could achieve what I wanted.
While of course my dream and biggest passion is football, I never forget about academics. While I was in Belgrade, Serbia I studied under the MYP program which followed me into the IB. Unfortunately, I chose to continue with the American Diploma program as I wanted to dedicate myself more to practice whilst keeping a good score in school. Even though I am not doing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, the American Diploma is equally challenging when balanced with my 4 hours of training everyday after school. I try my best to never fall out of this routine which meets both my school and sports requirements.
When it comes to how I am as a person, I would say that I am not perfect, but always strive to be the best version of myself. I am a thoughtful, trustworthy, and loyal person. These would be the words that highlight me. I was never a captain for a team, but I always behaved like one and tried to motivate others when they were down, always pushing for improvement and believing that it is required for a whole team to be mentally healthy in order to achieve success. I am very independent as I always take matters into my own hands and not wait for anyone else to do my job for me. I am not sure if this is my natural behaviour, but with moving places and finally living by myself at 16 years old, I am sure it helped improve my independence and discipline as well as taking care of others around me.
Finally, I want to express my goals for the future, and one of my goal destinations is the US and the college route. I strongly believe that the US colleges are incredibly useful and provide me with not only some of the best sports environments to help me improve, but also the best education you can receive globally. This way the US meets every criteria as I want to succeed both academically and in soccer. The future can never be certain, anything can happen, maybe I will join an US college and continue my professional career in the MLS, maybe I finish my studies and go back to Europe or another country or neither of those happen and my great academics from the US colleges lead me to another professional career in another field. However there are many possibilities, but as a person I am very confident and work hard everyday to make my dream come true to become a professional soccer player.
