Personal Statement
My name is Jaime Otamendi. I consider myself a cheerful and optimistic individual, always ready to lend a helping hand. I enjoy socialising and effortlessly make friends, thanks to my perpetual smile on my face since I was a baby. Fluent in both Spanish and English, with a proficient level in French, I always take pride in my appearance and manners. I have been actively involved in charity work at Runnymede College and have participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Award with Create Foundation in Social Programs. I am eager to study in the US to gain new life experiences and continue learning in diverse settings. My time at a British school in Madrid has exposed me to a variety of cultures, and I hope to continue this enriching experience. I am interested in majors related to International Relations, Economics, and Business, and recognise the value of a US education in complementing my academic background. I believe I can contribute positively to campus life with my outgoing personality and dedication to learning.
Athletics are a big part of my life, with a family deeply involved in sports. I have played in top ranked clubs in spain year after year in the most competitive leagues for each age group, with the aim of continual improvement and the aspiration to one day make my debut in the MLS. Coupled with my exceptional game vision, pinpoint passing precision, and a decisive dribbling ability crucial for one-on-one situations, I also possess great accuracy and power in shooting to score goals abundantly. Additionally, while soccer remains my primary sport, I have demonstrated excellence in rugby, judo, skiing, tennis, paddle, and golf, underscoring my dedication to personal growth and excellence across various athletic pursuits.
