Personal Statement
My name is Tino De Zabala and soccer is my passion. Through soccer I have learned essential values such as discipline, responsibility and solidarity. I was born in Venezuela but during my life I have lived in Arizona and Florida. It was in my homeland were the most important achievements of my soccer life have taken place: winning the National State Championship and being pre-selected for the National U-17 squad. In the present I live in Madrid, Spain and play soccer in the U-19 team of Rayo Majadahonda, a professional soccer team.
Playing soccer, I have experienced growth as a person and as an athlete. As an athlete, I have improved in many ways: from decision-taking to tactical positioning and from physical preparation to technical skills. However, the most important thing this sport has taught me is leadership.
My goal is to continue growing as a soccer player while I study in the United States. I strongly believe that there is no better place to combine academics and athletics than in the U.S. Moreover, I admire the growth soccer is having in America and will like to compete in a country with incredible facilities to play this fantastic sport.
