Personal Statement
Growing up, my grandparents played a big role in shaping who I am today. Their support and encouragement throughout my soccer journey have been invaluable. From the moment I laced up my first pair of cleats at the age of four, soccer became my passion. Their belief in me not only on the field but also in the classroom has pushed me to strive for excellence. While I didn't always take school seriously in middle school, their guidance helped me realize the importance of education. By putting in the effort, I was able to improve my grades from a 3.2 GPA to a 3.8 GPA, demonstrating that with determination, anything is possible.
Through soccer, I've learned valuable lessons about teamwork and perseverance. Being part of a team has taught me the importance of making decisions that benefit the group rather than just myself. It's also taught me the value of maintaining a positive attitude, even when facing challenges or setbacks. Despite the sacrifices I've had to make, such as missing out on social activities to train with Independiente Medellin, I've remained committed to my goals. As a natural leader, I strive to motivate and inspire others, both on and off the field. My ability to connect with people from all walks of life has allowed me to thrive in both my athletic and academic pursuits.
