Personal Statement
When I am asked what are my college goals, I have but one answer, to make a change. We've all heard if not me who, if not now when. This is a mantra that I live by. Sports have taught me the importance of teamwork and of transforming dreams into reality.
Throughout my sports career I have held several leadership positions, including being junior varsity captain for my school.
Having the responsibility of being a leader at such a young age, I quickly understood that in order to be successful I needed to rely upon my teammates, and it was through this lesson that led my team to victory in 4 national tournaments.
Off the field, I have used everything I've learnt to make a difference in the world. I am a member of the Jewish Mexican scouts association, where guide younger people to become the best version of themselves based on the principles of our religion and the Zionist identity that defines me. Whatever college I attend I plan to make a crucial part of my identity.
I know I am smart, and hardworking, but that is not enough. I need to make myself proud as a member of the Jewish community, and as a young man that comes from Latin America, give back not only to my country but to the world, all the opportunities I have gotten. As in every game you don't triumph by yourself, we are only victorious when we are all free, happy, and, equal.
