Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Cristóbal del Toro and I currently live in Mexico City. I am a student in the Edron Academy, a british school currently deemed the best "prepa" in Mexico. My school has the IB (International Baccalaureate) program. Due to this, I can get my GPA until november, as my IB mock exams are done in November, the real ones being done on May 2025. This has been my school my whole life and because of this, my english is at a very high level, as all my teachers are from all over the UK. Also, I have done social service in Mexico. My collegiate goals are to study Law as well as play soccer (the sport that I have played my whole life) in the best university possible for me.I currently play in Atletico San Luis CDMX in the Mexican Liga de Fuerzas Básicas. I play against America, pumas, etc. We also play in liga Scotiabank. I have also trained with San Antonio FC’s U-19 for around a month in the USA. I am a winger, fullback and can also play as a defensive or offensive midfielder. On the pitch I have many qualities to offer to a program. Firstly, I am a very fast player which is why I play in the wings. I can beat opponents by dribbling or resorting to my speed. However, I can also play defensively or offensively in the midfield. Secondly, even though I stand at a smaller statue, my body composition as well as going to the gym makes me very muscly and I am very strong in the pitch, always knowing how to use my body at my advantage and not being scared of any challenge, no matter the opponents stature. I am not a selfish player and I look for my team winning, assists and goals are the same to me. As for my character, I am a resilient, strong-willed individual and I despise losing. I am also academically very focused. What makes me different from other Student-Athletes, in my opinion, is that I have played in a lot of different environments, like club, high school, camps in the United States. I have also been to other,non- soccer camps, like CISV in Indonesia, in which I encountered people from all over the world. I would say I am a very respectful, goal-oriented Student and athlete and this is shown in my character on the pitch and off the pitch. I am also always very keen on learning what I can improve and on feedback from teammates and coaches. My ultimate goals are to be able to fulfill my College years by playing soccer and Studying Law, hopefully winning titles, and if I have earned it hopefully go pro. Sadly, due to the Mexican system not recording many games like they do in the USA, many of my highlights and goals have not been recorded. My video contains a few that have been.
