Personal Statement
While I am in college I want to develop certain skills and traits that will help me after I graduate from college, the base of all, involves a reinvention, what I mean is that after I graduate I want to have different ideas from when I went into college. I think this is vital in this ever changing world because you never know who will you be making business with in the future. My college experience will also involve a development of my economics and Finance skills.
The balance between soccer and school has been vital through my life, soccer has been an escape for me when I am stressed from school. I am a very committed person. What makes me a good candidate for your team is my nationality. I am an international player and I consider this to be an advantage. In Mexico we are showed only one thing when playing soccer: Never give up on the ball, this moral is instilled in us making us relentless on pressure and even though there is a play that we cannot reach the ball, I will do my best to reach it. I am very serious about the discipline of attitude, having an attitude of respect towards the coach, the staff and my teammates, also an attitude of extreme dedication, for example: Never miss training, be on time, and be focused in every drill you do, never give up. These are some examples that make me highly coachable and the player that I am today. One of the most important types of attitude is loyalty, being loyal with your team, stand up for what you represent and even though you do not start a game have relentless support for your teammates that are playing.
Mexico has shaped me into the player I am today, Playing at a semi-professional allowed me to develop certain traits, First of all my perseverance, if I am not good at a drill, or at a skill I will practice endlessly until I get it right at least a couple of times. My commitment to the team, coaching staff and teammates, also my tenacity, I never give up when I’m on the pitch, I am ambitious, I always want more, I –always want to start a game I always want to have the ball, I always want to participate on a play. One of my final abilities is my acceptance of failure, during my soccer career I experience failure almost every season, do to my competitiveness, I learned to deal with failure and I still cannot accept failure but I can learn from it. Moreover I am a very analytical player, I rely on strategy more than my physical aptitude, I am a very intelligent player where I know what to do with the ball before I get it, also I am a very technical player as I use various skills to complete passes, shots or dribbles.
