My name is Wiskendy Francois, I am 20 years old, 6'2 and weight 144 pounds. I was born in Haiti but in 2009 I moved to The Bahamas to live with my parents Growing up as a kid, soccer has always played an important role in my life and it is because it I have grown up to learn a lot and gain many experiences on and off the field. I am the kind of person who always thrive and work hard at everything that I do whether it involves sports or academics, I am determine to be the best.
Tell coaches about your collegiate goals and aspirations.
It has always been a dream and passion of mine to attend university, play soccer at the college level because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, get a degree in business administration, help others to persevere and be what they want to be in the future. I am a student-athlete at Shaw University and I am learning a lot academically, individually and as a player. I want to graduate and become a big part in society.
What makes you a good candidate for their team?
As for me, my number one strength as a player is that I'm a very optimistic and I'm confident about making team work decisions and I'm a positive thinker, team player, good communication skills, hard worker, able to handle stress at perplexing times, energetic, goal driven, ambitious, pro-active, respectful, eager to learn and I have a friendly attitude to everyone.
What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics?
No matter how dreadful the circumstances may appear to me although they may be problematic, I never give up and I always try. I am well mannered, able to communicate with teammates in a way they will understand. Athletically I always compete and have fun at the same time, confident, and I'm a leader. When it comes to academics I always do my best because I'm competing with Magnet Program students and you have to devote yourself to do the best and that is what I have done by winning many academic achievement including the Bahamas Science Expo 2015 winner. Not only I compete with my classmates but I also work with them as pairs. I lead by example and I have a good work ethic and most importantly I am committed to excellence.
