Liam Smith '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi I am Liam, aged 18 and currently playing in France for AS Roquebrune Cap-Martin SENIOR D1 level, affiliated with professional team AS MONACO  in the South-East.

My father is American and my mother is French, and I have graduated from the International School of Valbonne in the South of France, where I have obtained the French Baccalaureate with an IB option in June 2023. I am currently in my second year at the University of Nice for an English degree.

I have also completed my certification as a national and regional referee for the French Football Federation.

Achieving my dream of getting a soccer scholarship in the United States to balance out studies and my passion has always been a dream of mine since middle school, which is why I have always aimed high for the clubs I have played for, with my desire to win and giving everything for the team not changing over the years. 

My ability to be physically present for the numerous duels across the game (183 cm/ 75 kg), be composed with the ball to pick out the right pass at the right time, and to run at high intensity with ease for 90 minutes up and down the field has proven useful as right-back (as unfortunately not all our overlaps lead to us receiving the ball), position which I have been placed at for the past two years now, as I was a striker/right winger for 8 years.
