Personal Statement
To keep it short and simple,
My name is Christian Soulos and I’m currently in year 12 at Marcellin College Randwick, Sydney Australia. I am a citizen of the United states, and I’m hoping to attend college in the US.
In soccer I play as a striker but sometimes move into attacking mid, i’m not an in behind striker (I can still play in behind) as i believe my playmaking is my best attribute so i tend to receive the ball as i come in a bit deeper. I personally believe i can create something out of nothing, whether it is a through ball to the wingers, a solo run, a long shot, etc. Not only would I bring ability to the team, but I also bring leadership and constant positivity, i’ll never let one of my teammates put their head down over a mistake as it is so vital to a team to have confidence within each other and themselves. I usually play a full 90 minute game, and I have never obtained an injury that has caused me to miss a game. I love soccer and have since i was 4, so it’s my dream to continue playing it at a high level in the US.
Academic wise, I wouldn’t say i’m extremely smart, but i would still consider myself as a smart student. up until now i’ve been able to rely on my natural intelligence to get me through school with reasonable grades (straight B’s with the occasional A). It does need to be noted that the Australian schooling system is a little bit harder than what it is in the US. Recently as i’m entering the late stages of year 12, i’ve started to dedicate myself a lot more to school and it has shown with my recent grades. I got a 91% in PDHPE, 90% in English, 84% in History, 100% in Mathematics (i’m very proud of that one) etc. I’ve taken a practice SAT with no study and scored a 1400 on it, but I have an official test booked later this year. I want to pursue finance as I really enjoy numbers and working with money.
Look, i’m nothing special, but what I am is someone who will do whatever it takes within the team to reach my goals. I’ve undergone some pretty major setbacks in recent years, but i’ve always come back stronger and that’s what I plan on continuing.
