Personal Statement
Since I began playing soccer, its been hard to continually improve. Our family was always on the move due to my dads job, so I'd have to relocate and get accustom to the new types of playing skills in each individual area. I feel like the burden of constantly moving strengthened my skill on the field. It showed me how to play in different areas around the world, such as keeping my energy up in the heat of India and Oman, and in the cold of Norway keeping myself heated and making sure my muscles didn't get stiff. I was able to see soccer from different areas in the world and incorporate it into the way I currently play, which I'm highly grateful. Constantly facing this issue largely contributed to me overcoming the problem, and being comfortable wherever I played.
My highest achievement in football was coming 3rd with The American International School Muscat in our SAISA soccer tournament in Chennai. I scored 4 goals for my team securing Man of the Match and the Golden Boot award in the tournament. Coming 3rd wasn't as good at coming 1st but it taught me a lot about determination and perseverance.
I grew up learning that if you do something you love, you'll be successful in it. I love playing sports and use many other sports, such as track, basketball and volleyball to improve my skills in areas of speed and jumping ability. I also enjoy playing wherever I'm needed on the pitch, because I learned that versatility is a very good trait to have. Although soccer in college is important to me I understand that education is extremely important so I'm looking for a college where I can earn my degree and play soccer at the highest level possible.
