Personal Statement
Hello my name is Nicolas Troya and I’m a 2025 graduate year defensive midfielder from Quito, Ecuador. I currently play for "Estudiantes de la Plata Ecuador” (youth academy from an Argentinean professional team) in a competitive national league in Ecuador.
Academics are a top priority for me. I currently hold a 3.7 GPA. I excel in various subjects including mathematics, finance, physics, entrepreneurship, chemistry and physical education.
I’m a versatile, trusted and impact player on my club team. My technical abilities are best display as a central midfielder and defensively across the back line. I communicate well, possess good ball control and good mid-distance shot on top of my defensive abilities.
Playing soccer is really important to me and has taught me so many life lessons. I have learned teamwork, perseverance, and decision making, that I will be able to apply to all aspects of my life. I have also experienced to face the ups and downs of life and how to come together with my peers to solve problems.
Through college athletics, I desire to play at a high level, compete every day, make a significant difference on and off the field, and earn a college degree. I would like to earn a degree in Business Administration and/or Sport Management, with my main goal one day own my own company dedicated to sports related business.
