Personal Statement
I am an American, currently living in Basel Switzerland, where I will be graduating with an IB Diploma in 2017 from the International School of Basel. I currently play soccer on the Swiss national level where we play other academy teams across the German, French and Swiss Region. This fall season (Junior), my U-17 team won all 11 games in our league, and will be travelling to the Swiss Championships again after the winter. Also this fall, my Varsity school team played in the International Schools Tournament in Stockholm, Sweden where we came in second out of eight teams. In my freshman year, my U-15 academy team won our league, putting us in the top five national teams in the country. In my sophomore, following a season with U-16, I was one of three players to move up to the U-17 team. We ended the season winning our league before travelling to the Swiss Championships as the defending champions from the previous season. We lost the semi-finals and ended up placing third overall in Switzerland.
I have also had the opportunity to play against academy teams worldwide, including Hamburg, Werder Bremen, Juventus, Dortmund and a number of Spanish teams. I began my soccer career in England, at the age of 5, before moving to Switzerland at the age of 10. Over the course of my soccer career, I have been promoted to higher-level teams, culminating in reaching the highest league team in Swiss Junior Soccer.
I am fluent in both English and German, and have basic Spanish skills. My goal is to return to the US to study at a strong academic university while having the chance to play high level competitive soccer.
