Personal Statement
Dear Coaches, My name is Konstantinos Brilis and I come from Athens, Greece. My aspirations are to play at the top university level in the US, where I can balance the best student athlete collegiate years possible. For the biggest part of my life, all I have ever known is football. Football is not just a sport, but a passion that I have loved since I can remember. To introduce myself, I am a religious, disciplined and very passionate leader not just on the field, but in the classroom. Being a student athlete is my identity. I spend a lot of time on improving on myself and working on my weaknesses, and take a lot of extra time outside of training to refine and sharpen my skills academically and athletically. On the field, I currently rotate in the midfield positions between attacking and central holding midfielder including a secondary position as an attacker up front with the flexibility to play offence and defence all over the field. My game intelligence, matches perfectly with my composure on the ball, opening and spreading of play to create numerous attacks, major strength in successful dribbling and keeping the ball, a widespread of great vision, long and short passing skills, physical strength and my focused and motivated competitiveness in tough and intense situations.
Being a leader for me is not a badge, a title or the ability to give orders, but the necessary role of being the difference and a force when your team needs you the most. My leader instincts prove to come through in intense and clutch situations, where I try my best not to give up and lift the spirits, giving my team a psychological edge when the game is on the line. I do my best to play fair, always bounce back, be a true sportsman, and respect all the opponents my teams play against. I am a firm believer in hard work beats talent, as god has blessed me with hard work to reach the level that I am today, and hope to go as far as I can in the future.
In the classroom, I am a dedicated student, where I try to use my emotionally intelligent social energy and kindness to create a humble learning environment. I like to highlight my curiosity and inspiration to learn new pieces of knowledge and new ways to solve problems I come across. My traits on the field match and link with the traits I push in both the classroom and field environments, which skills I combine in my Student Council Committee, Sports Council Committee, Model United Nations Admin group and Artificial Intelligence Club ( or as we like to call Machine Learning Mavericks ). Overall, I seek to combine the best Student Athlete role I can, set myself apart from others, help my teammates, classmates, lead, learn and progress towards being a successful alongside my friends, family and peers.
