Personal Statement
To start off, I am very serious about taking my soccer career to the next level and am very determined to advance my skills and prosper to play professionally. My goals and aspirations while playing at a college level is to develop & acquire skills through practice to prepare myself for the professional level. Aside from athletics, I want to be successful academically also. I understand that this will be done by studying and managing my time right. But of course this starts now. Which brings me to my next subject, what makes me different from the other recruits essentially making me the better candidate. As I said before I'm working on improving my grades to raise my GPA so that I can be viewed by more colleges. As for my character and athletic ability I'm very determined and will practice something until I perfect it. I like to achieve things so when I want to achieve a goal I make sure I use anything in my power to not let that goal slip. In this instance, becoming a college soccer player or perhaps a professional soccer player. I would say I am a motivating teammate, for example if we were down by two or whatever the deficit might be I will encourage my team to keep their heads up and keep pushing. Another thing is that I am not a selfish player, I realize that soccer is a team sport and that if anything their success is more important than mine. Meaning, if I score a goal I won't want a celebration and have my glory moment I would thank the players who contributed to make the play happen. Which brings me to my athletic ability, my speed is definitely an aspect to my game and I try to utilize it the best I can. Not only that but my stamina is pretty good also, I will work more on that though along with staying in shape. I workout at least four times a week, so I have some muscle on me to help with contact with others players. And of course I try to eat as healthy as possible. Lastly, some side information about myself involving soccer. I started playing soccer with my church at age 4 so I am knowledgeable about the game. Another thing is that I play two positions on the field, offensive midfielder & striker. Next, I was awarded The Coaches Award for my JV team in my sophomore year. Lastly, I've been told by coaches and people that I have potential and I just have to work on my ball handling for control & some work on my shooting accuracy.
